The Internet is buzzing about Final Fantasy, so you know that Square Enix is going to try and capitalize on all this hype with a few off-beat projects. One of the more outlandish announcements made was the intent to bring its portable fighting series, Dissidia: Final Fantasy, not to home consoles but rather the Japanese arcade scene! Has Final Fantasy ever made a splash on the arcade scene in Japan?
Ehrgeiz: God Bless The Ring perhaps?
At any rate, fans of the series will have to wait a bit longer for more information. Square Enix has announced plans to reveal more information at a closed conference being held on April 10. Only 150 people will be invited to go hands on, so chances are I won’t be among them in this country of 120 million people. However, information is bound to leak from the convention’s two stages, and we’ll be sure to scoop it up for you.
Until then, enjoy the screenshots and footage that Square Enix has already shown off. Since the reveal, I’ve finally been able to go hands on with a Dissidia game, and I’ve had a lot of fun with it. It’s complex, far more so than Dragon Ball Xenoverse, but that only helps it stand out. The high quality PSP graphics are also a plus, and I kind of prefer them to the creepy HD models we’ve seen in the arcade version so far.
What do you think of it? Does it look like something you’d like to play on the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One?
