More than enough Splatoon screenshots and trailers to fill your tank

I have a bit of a confession to make. For has much hype as it has gotten, Splatoon has been sailing under my radar since it was first announced. Nintendo and those who have played it are claiming that we are about to witness a turning point for the shooting genre, but I’ve been to soaked in my recent JRPG fix to really notice.

Maybe this new batch of screenshots and trailers will do the trick. It’s media day for Nintendo’s shooter, and the company has released a blitz of footage and lifted embargo impressions around the net. The trailers do enough talking for themselves, painting a game that looks like a fine mix between Super Mario Sunshine and something like Sunset Overdrive‘s or Ratchet and Clank‘s competitive modes.

Splatoon launches next month worldwide exclusively for the Wii U.
