Even though the HTC’s One M9 is just a few weeks from launch in the U.S, HTC is already hard at work on its next handset. Recent rumors have suggested an upgraded One M9+ is just over the horizon, but HTC may be focusing on another device entirely.
A new report from mobiltelefon.ru out of Russia claims HTC’s Butterfly lineup may be due for a new entry in the near future. The Butterfly 3 will allegedly launch in Japan soon (likely April or May) before rolling out the rest of Asia. The device apparently offers VoLTE support and comes in white, blue and red variants.
Based on earlier leaks, we’re also expecting a 5.2-inch Quad HD display, suggesting the Butterfly 3 might be just a hair larger than HTC’s latest flagship phone. If it’s anything like previous entries, we’re guessing this device will also feature a plastic design, though that doesn’t mean it can’t pack plenty of power under the hood. We hope to know more soon.
