Project CARS gets first Xbox One gameplay footage

While we’ve been wading through delay after delay of Slightly Mad Studios’ ambitious racer Project CARS, we’ve seen all manner of trailers showing off the game’s features. One thing we haven’t seen, though, is footage of the game confirmed to be running on the Xbox One. Now, thanks to some exclusive gameplay provided to Eurogamer‘s Outside Xbox, we’re happy to say that not only is the game running on Microsoft’s system, it’s looking pretty stellar doing it.

The footage sports just about every weather condition you could hope to risk your life in, as well as a full day night cycle.

Both of these will be shown off especially well if you’re brave enough to try racing the 24 Hours of LeMans endurance race.

The video does take a short moment to acknowledge that there are some quirks with the racing AI. That’s not exactly a surprise; racing AI has been a problem since the first Gran Turismo, and it’s easily racing’s biggest problem. Forza Motorsport 5 has taken some interesting strides to solve it with the Drivatar system, but it’s definitely not perfect.

Even with AI quirks, Project CARS is looking great and looks like it just might be ready for its mid-May release window.
