This 24k gold-dipped Galaxy S6 definitely won’t come cheap

The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge already boast pretty nice designs, but what if regular old aluminum and glass just aren’t enough? One company is taking things a step further with gold-dipped versions of Samsung’s newest smartphones, in case you have an extra $1,000 just laying around.

Goldgenie hasn’t revealed all of the prices for the gold-covered Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge models, but the blinged out device is set to start at £1,664 (that’s roughly $2,457). We’re guessing the Galaxy S6 Edge will cost even more, and the company is also offering rose gold and platinum options. By comparison, the standard Galaxy S6 is expected to cost roughly $600 off-contract when it launches in early April. Goldgenie’s version should be available two weeks after that.

Beneath that golden exterior you’ll be getting the same Android smartphone. The Galaxy S6 packs a 5.1-inch Quad HD display, an octa-core Exynos 7 series processor, a 2550mAh battery, a 16-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, 3GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB/128GB of storage. The Galaxy S6 Edge offers all that, along with a curved screen and slightly larger 2600mAh battery.

We’ll have plenty of additional Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge coverage once Samsung’s new phones hit the market. As for the gold-dipped version, we’re not making any promises, but if you’re interested you can register via the source link below for updates straight from Goldgenie.
