Apple reduced the price of the Apple TV during its spring forward press event recently, where it also provided new details on the Apple Watch and unveiled its new MacBook. That move suggested that it might be dropping the price to get rid of extra inventory ahead of a new model, and now a new report claims that a new model is indeed on the way.

According to BuzzFeed, Apple is set to debut a new Apple TV this summer with plenty of new features, including its own App Store, an addition that has been rumored for a while now, and Siri support. The news outlet said Apple will debut the device during its annual Worldwide Developer’s Conference in June, where it will also unveil an SDK so that developers can create apps for the set-top box.

The author of the article, John Paczkowski, said we can expect Apple to outfit the new Apple TV with an A8 processor, more than the 8GB of storage offered by the latest Apple TV, support for connected HomeKit smart home devices and “an updated design.”

The news follows rumors that Apple is also gearing up to enter the streaming TV market, and a new device might provide the perfect vehicle to deliver that kind of service.
