Rock Band 4 officially has a much clearer release window. The game will hit the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in October of this year.
Harmonix Product Manager Eric Pope spoke with MCV about the upcoming return to the music genre. It’s in the article that he talks about how the team built a brand new engine for the game. “It’s going to look ‘next-gen,'” he offered, “with more realistic lighting, character models, and animation.”
“It’ll be 1080p and will run at 60fps…I know there’s a vocal group of players that want to hear that. But what to me is more exciting is the online infrastructure of the consoles. It will open a lot [of] opportunities for us to support the game in more reactive, timely ways.”
It’s in the same issue of MCV that they state that Rock Band 4 will arrive in October. Though, that one doesn’t comes as a quote directly from Harmonix. So, until we get absolute clarification from the developer, this one goes into the rumor file.
Are you getting excited to revisit the music genre again with Rock Band 4? Or, are you all plastic instrument’d out?
