If you’re waiting on a Gears of War compilation to set on your shelf just to the left of Halo: The Master Chief Collection, you have a long time to wait according to Gears studio manager Rod Ferguson.
The studio isn’t working on a compilation, he says, but they have more than one project from the franchise in the works:
I love the passion, but there’s no Marcus Fenix Collection. We ARE working on other exciting Gears projects. I'll see you at E3!

This is sure to disappoint many fans who were hoping to see their favorite series make the jump to the next generation in preparation for the new game, just as we saw with Halo last year. Then again, such a release seems like a no-brainer and this wouldn’t be the first time a game developer lied about a game’s development to temporarily put fan chatter to rest, so anything is possible. He also said “Marcus Fenix collection” specifically, and such a thing wouldn’t leave room for the inclusion of Gears of War: Judgment, the prequel that came out a few years back.
We can keep hoping either way, but it sounds like it’s better to look forward to the next title rather than wondering about the previous ones.
