If you’re one of the over 20 million people who owns a PlayStation 4 but one of the roughly half who doesn’t pay for the PlayStation Plus subscription, you’ll have the chance to hop online this weekend to see how the service works.
Sony announced today that the service will be free for all PlayStation 4 owners for 72 hours this weekend, starting at 12:01 a.m. Pacific on Friday, March 20, up through 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, March 22. While multiplayer was free on PlayStation 3, it is part of PlayStation Plus, which normally costs $49.99 per year, on Sony’s new system.
Keep in mind that this promotion doesn’t grant access to the PlayStation Plus library of free games, or other services like access to the new Powers television show.
While the promotion doesn’t last long enough for Bloodborne‘s release, games like Dying Light, Helldivers and Battlefield: Hardline should give players plenty of stuff to play over the weekend.
