The BBC is taking part in an initiative to get kids in the United Kingdom into coding, including giving away tiny micro computers. As part of that, they’re also working on a new television show that dramatizes the creation of Grand Theft Auto. The series is one of the biggest in the world and, despite its controversy, is undoubtedly a point of pride for the coding community there.
The BBC’s Make it Digital announcement says that “a new drama based on Grand Theft Auto, one of the most extraordinary creative and controversial success stories of our time” is in the works. Tech journalist Guy Cocker clarified on Twitter:

According to information obtained by Engadget, the show will be a one-off 90 minute television drama. No word yet on what part of Rockstar’s long history with the game it’ll focus on.
