Samsung may soon have a direct competitor to its Galaxy Note series of smartphones. LG is expected to launch its G4 flagship smartphone (leaked image pictured above) in the coming months, but a new report from the Korea Herald suggests that’s not the only powerhouse coming down the pipeline.

The Korea Herald said it has learned that LG plans to compete with a “Note” phablet of its own, and that LG’s new device is going to be even more powerful than the G4 that’s set to hit the market in the coming months. The device will reportedly be sold under the “G Note” moniker, a name already trademarked by LG, according to GforGames. The device will specifically target the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (and probably the Galaxy Note 5), and the iPhone 6 Plus.

The Korea Herald uses statements made by LG’s head of mobile Cho Ju-no during Mobile World Congress to back up its claims. According to the news outlet, Cho mentioned that LG has several high-end devices coming out in 2015, and consumers have more than the G4 to look forward to this year.
