According to SamMobile, the Galaxy S6 Active will sport the same basic specs as the regular S6. That includes a 5.1-inch Quad HD display, an Exynos 7420 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a 16-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter and an upgraded 3500mAh battery. However, the device’s dimensions could change somewhat, coming in at 73.6 x 146.9 x 8.8mm compared to the current 70.5 x 143.4 x 6.8mm Galaxy S6.
We still have a few questions about the alleged Galaxy S6 Active. Will it still sport a fingerprint scanner? What about built-in wireless charging? It’s possible Samsung could cut a few features to offer a more rugged design.
We’re also not sure when the Galaxy S6 Active will get an official launch. It could be a few more months before Samsung breaks the news. Even then, it looks like the device may be an AT&T exclusive based on its model number (SM-G890A), though hopefully the phone won’t be limited to just one carrier for too long.
