No, it’s not just you. Apple is experiencing issues with iTunes, the iBooks Store, the App Store and its Mac App Store. Outages have been reported across the Internet, particularly on Twitter where users are more vocal about their experiences, and Apple has confirmed the outage on its “system status” page.
The iTunes Store, the App Store, the iBooks Store and the Mac App Store are all marked in red with alerts that state “service is unavailable for all users.” It appears that all other services are operating properly at this time, but the outage has been ongoing since earlier this morning, when iCloud Mail and iCloud Account & Sign in were also down, starting at about 5:00 a.m. EST.
Apple typically gets these issues fixed quickly, but the store outages have been ongoing for at least 5 hours now. It’s unclear what’s causing the issue, and Apple doesn’t typically explain what caused the problems. We’ll let you know if there’s more news on this front.
UPDATE: All services appear to be back online as of 5 pm Eastern.
