Prey developer announces horror title Lost Within

The studio behind Prey and the recently confirmed-as-cancelled Prey 2 is working on a new title, but it’s not what you might expect.

Prey was a fairly straightforward first person shooter, while the sequel – really only sequel in name – was an open world sci-fi game. Both were console and PC titles aimed at their current console generations.

Human Head’s newest title, Lost Within, is first person as well, but this time it’s a survival game in the style of titles like Outlast and Amnesia. What sets it apart is that the game is being published by Amazon Games for its own touch devices as well as iPhone and iPad.

The experience doesn’t look to add anything terribly new to the genre at first glance, but the touch interface might add something. Either way, it’s good to see the studio working on something new – with a publisher, no less – after the frustrating development path that Prey 2 had traveled down.

Lost Within doesn’t have a release date, but it’s ‘coming soon’ according to the Amazon Games lineup.
