Rockstar is now issuing a free update to the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions of Grand Theft Auto V. Once installed, the update will let GTA Online users access the much anticipated and oft-delayed Online Heists.
Heists are four player cooperative objectives that span all sorts of vehicle and weaponry use. According to Rockstar, they’ll require teamwork and communication for players to reap the most rewards from them.
The first update will bring “five total Heists including an initial introductory Heist for two players.”
As for how to access the Heists online? There are some requirements. Here’s the exact rub from Rockstar.
Triggering a Heist
- Players who are rank 12 or above and own a high-end apartment will receive a phone call from Lester.
- When a player accepts Lester’s call and begins the Heist they become the Heist leader and can choose to invite other players from the lobby, their friend’s list, or players from the previous Heist. Players of any rank that have already completed the GTA Online tutorial up to and including Gerald’s first LTS job can play Heists.
- The heist leader has the responsibility of fronting the setup costs to acquire whatever equipment and additional NPC personnel needed to pull off the job – which amounts to a percentage of the final payout.
Rockstar also noted that Heists will be available online in the PC version of GTA V as soon as it launches on April 14th.
Now that they’re finally here, are you excited to try the Online Heists in Grand Theft Auto V?
