NeatherRealm Studios has confirmed yet another veteran fighter will be returning to the ring in Mortal Kombat X: everyone’s favorite flamboyant action star, Johnny Cage.
In an interview with Game Create, Senior Producer Adam Urbano confirmed that Cage will be playable, but the video has since been taken down by the account’s owner. Duplicates have been taken down by Warner Bros. citing trademark infringements. Sounds like someone blew an embargo date!
For my generation, Cage is best known for being inspired by the JCVD (Jean-Claude Van Damme), sporting a sweet pair of shades, literally performing a below the belt attack, and being killed like a punk in the first three minutes of Mortal Kombat: Annihilation. What a horrible movie…
Urbano also confirmed that the blind swordsman Kenshi would be joining him as another veteran face. Kenshi appeared in the trailer for Mortal Kombat X’s mobile version, leaving that little leak totally on NeathRealm’s lap.
“You’ll get to play as Johnny Cage, but we’re also showing Cassie Cage, who is the daughter of Sonya and Johnny,” Urbano said. “You’ll get a chance to see Kenshi and a chance to see a couple more.”
Mortal Kombat X will be released for he PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
