WARNING: This video has naughty language!
CD Projekt Red brought along more stunning footage of its incoming and massive RPG, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, to Nvidia’s GDC 2015 presentation. In spite of the gorgeous scenery, Gameplay Designer Damien Monnier emphasized that the game was not being run at maximum settings, not wanting to spoil the surprise for when customers turn the game on for the first time.
The rest of the footage shows our hunter Geralt prowling along mountain paths and through beautifully lit forests. Combat doesn’t drop in until about halfway through the trailer when a pack of wolves get the jump on Geralt, and Monnier takes the opportunity to show off a time slowing trap which allows him to more carefully dodge the beasts.
Another encounter is a simple random bandit attack that doesn’t showcase anything new, but it does get a good laugh from the audience in showing off the series’ famous NSFW language.
CD Projekt Red used NVIDIA’s streaming tech, Grid, to show off both the game and the seamless streaming. Monnier points out that streaming to the NVIDIA Shield has zero lag.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be released on May 19 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
