We’re less than a week away from Apple’s big smartwatch event, but if you can’t wait any longer we have something that might help pass the time. A new website, spotted by 9to5Mac, lets you design your own Apple Watch using a Moto Maker-style menu.
You can choose between six different case models, which cover the Apple Watch, the Apple Watch Sport and the high-end Apple Watch Edition. There are also 16 different wrist straps to choose from in steel, leather and fluoroelastomer (synthetic rubber). You can mix and match however you want, though not all combinations really work.
I spent some time messing around on Mix Your Watch, and had a great time. I created a few pretty nice designs that I wouldn’t mind wearing myself. I also created some truly ugly versions of the Apple Watch, but that’s part of the fun too.
9to5Mac also points to a second site called WatchAware, where you can test out different Apple Watch apps. You’ll see what notifications, glances and full apps will look like on the device, including those from popular services like Facebook and Twitter. This site isn’t quite as interactive, but it’s still pretty interesting.
We know it’s not as good as the real thing, but hopefully these sites can entertain you until the actual Apple Watch arrives in April.
