Apple expected to allow Apple Watch engravings

Apple already allows its customers to engrave some products with a special message on the back. You might buy your mom a new iPad and have “Happy Mother’s Day” engraved on the back, for example. A new report suggests Apple is going to allow customers to engrave the Apple Watch, too.

iPhonote recently said that it has learned of Apple’s intentions to offer engraving, which will allow consumers to add a special touch on the watch, particularly if it’s a gift. The site wasn’t able to confirm if the option will be immediately available at launch in April, however, or if Apple will begin offering the service later on. Apple’s laser engraving option is typically free and customers can choose it during checkout on the company’s website. We don’t know how many characters customers will be able to include in a message, however. Given the size of the Apple Watch, it’s likely you won’t be able to include a full two-line message, as you would on another product like an iPad.

We’re expecting to hear more details on the Apple Watch, including the pricing for all models and the official release date, during the firm’s press event next Monday, March 9.
