Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain was set to have a massive reveal tomorrow. A countdown on the game’s official site will expire during the morning of Wednesday, March 4th. Most are speculating that it will lead to the announcement of a release date.
Well, they’re probably right. A slip-up at IGN has lead to a leaked version of tomorrow’s presentation for The Phantom Pain, and a single screenshot from that presentation has exploded around the internet on message boards and Twitter. I first saw it on the latter of such outlets.
The screen comes from a point in the presentation when the release date for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is revealed. It’s coming out on September 1st, 2015, and it will be a worldwide release. The release platforms are the PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360.
You can watch the leaked presentation from IGN here, though it’ll probably be down in a matter of minutes. Update: Yep, it’s down.
What do you think of the release date leak? We’ll likely have it officially tomorrow.
