Withings Activité and Activité Pop now compatible with Android devices

Good news! The Withings Activité will now work with Android.

The handsome “smarter” watch is a clever take on the smartwatch market, and support for Android should please quite a few people, especially those looking for something that’s stylish and functional.

Withings’ Activité is different in that it doesn’t feed you notifications like an Android Wear device would. Rather it tracks your activity, providing you with stats about steps taken and important sleep information. What it lacks in smartwatch functionality it makes up for in design; it’s a gorgeous watch, plain and simple. It’s Swiss Made, features a sapphire face, and comes with a calf leather watch band. It’s simple, elegant, and a nice middle ground in the smartwatch race.

You should be able to download the free Withings Health Mate app now through Google Play, which allows you to track your weekly progress. In addition, Withings also announced compatibility with Google Fit, the search giant’s own health hub.

I’ve been using the Activité for a little over a week now, and I absolutely love it. I haven’t yet had a reason to jump into the smartwatch game, so this is the perfect device for me. Of course, if the $450 price tag of the Activité scares you off, the Activité Pop might be the better option; that one retails for just $149, and is set to be available later this month.
