Modder adds multiplayer to Resident Evil Revelations 2 PC version

When a publisher doesn’t deliver a total product on PC, don’t lose your cool. The modding community will have your back within a week or two. Just like the Final Fantasy XIII PC resolution debacle, a popular Resident Evil modder has stepped up to write the wrongs of the PC version of Resident Evil Revelations 2 by adding the advertised multiplayer.

Capcom’s little bathtub of hot water last week culminated in the form of an apology for accidentally stating that the PC version of the game would sport local multiplayer when it in fact does not.

The feature wasn’t intended for this version and that caveat was mistakenly omitted from the product description on the Steam page earlier, and then included as soon as we were made aware.

The publisher said it was looking for solutions, but during its search, the modding community was hard at work.

For about four days. Within that time frame, modder Fluffquack released his patch which adds a decent multiplayer substitute until the real deal comes out. As it stands now, only the story mode supports the patch and players must use gamepads. No WASD and mouse support just yet.

Raid Mode, the main reason to support multiplayer in any fashion, will also be getting support at a later date.
