More Dragon’s Dogma Online screens have us drooling for free to play

Like many western gamers, I’m really not a huge fan of free to play games. Oftentimes the elements that make the game free are also those that make the game frustrating after just a few hours.

Dragon’s Dogma‘s take on western medieval fantasy hooked me immediately, though, and I’d jump at just about any chance to re-enter that world. The format of the original game even lends itself better to that sort of game than many others thanks to an open world, robust leveling and item systems, and a fairly sparse (but still present) story.

There’s unfortunately still no sign of a western release for Dragon’s Dogma Online, though, and it’s unlikely we’ll see it here. Capcom seems to be leaning harder on free to play as a model lately, but I hope it’ll give the game’s standard retail path a second go at some point.
