Facebook Messenger gets a much-needed update for iOS 8

Love it or hate it, Facebook Messenger is here to stay. The company forced us to download a separate messaging app over the summer, and now Facebook is rolling out one extremely useful feature for iPhone owners.

Version 22 of Facebook Messenger for iOS finally integrates the app into Apple’s sharing feature. That means you can grab a photo, video or link from any app on your iPhone and quickly shoot it to a friend over Facebook Messenger without needing to jump between different apps. Instead, just hit the Share button and pick from the list of approved service.

It might be a small change, but it should make for a much more seamless experience. After all, if Facebook is going to make us use a separate messaging app it should offer the best possible version. Overall we’ve been pretty impressed by Facebook Messenger so far, so hopefully the company doesn’t stop improving anytime soon.
