Sony may have gotten a little over-excited in the run up to next month’s Mobile World Congress. The Japanese company, apparently done with the mobile market, has let slip a brief look at its upcoming Xperia Z4 Tablet, and, surprise, it looks a lot like the company’s Z3 Tablet. But that’s a good thing, because that was a pleasant device to use. The successor will be even better, however, though today’s early look unfortunately doesn’t provide too many major details.
We do know that Sony’s Xperia Z4 Tablet will feature a 2K display, along with the “latest ultra fast processor.” Oh, fancy. We can also expect “industry leading battery performance,” which is always a promise we like to hear (so long as the company delivers). Beyond that, we’re not sure in what other measurable ways the Z4 Tablet will improve over the previous model. It sure looks thin—thin is good. And you can bet it’ll support Remote Play, Sony’s neat streaming superpowers for mobile devices.
Hat tip to Xperia Blog for snagging a screenshot of the Z4 Tablet in Sony’s Xperia Lounge app. The mention of the device has (predictably) been pulled, so Sony is trying to pretend like nothing happened. The listing did, however, reveal the device will officially be revealed on March 3, which is just days away. Until then, we’ll keep our eyes peeled for any major revelations.
