The HTC One M9 has been leaking a lot recently, but this latest leak might be the biggest one yet. A handful of new promo videos published by Upleaks seem to reveal pretty much every remaining secret surrounding HTC’s next flagship phone just days ahead of its official unveiling.
Most of the new stuff centers on the next version of HTC’s Sense software, which is expected to run on the One M9 out of the box. The Android-based user interface includes some exciting new features, including a new Sense widget that offers easy access to relevant apps depending on your location and the time of day. It also looks like HTC’s added a fourth on-screen navigation button, giving you the ability to easily turn off the device without needing to stretch your fingers.
A few other unexpected features include Dolby-powered BoomSound speakers, new photo editing tools and the ability to create artsy themes for your phone based on a picture. On the hardware side, HTC appears to confirm that the device will pack a Snapdragon processor (likely the octa-core 810), a 20-megapixel rear camera and an UltraPixel shooter upfront for low-light pictures.
The video also highlights the new phone’s two-tone aluminum design. It looks great, but it’s really more of an M8 refresh than a totally new device. Still, it seems like the One M9 will offer some interesting new software and the high-end hardware to match
Of course, it’s possible these videos were faked, but it seems unlikely given their quality. Either way, we’ll know for sure in just a few more days.
