I wouldn’t hate it if Apple introduced an Apple 6c

Apple’s iPhone 5c is often viewed as a misstep in the company’s recent portfolio. To be fair, it may not have been the best business decision on Apple’s part, which is likely why we didn’t see a new version last fall. But, darn it, these new concept images created by 3DFuture make me wish a larger version existed.

There’s zero indication Apple will re-introduce another “unapologetically plastic” phone, but I wouldn’t be mad if the company did. I was a big fan of the iPhone 5c—I used the device for a year before upgrading to the iPhone 6. But, man, it looks even better with a larger screen and more rounded edges. I mean, yeah, it’s pretty much identical to the iPhone 5c design we saw in 2013, just styled slightly differently as the iPhone 6/iPhone 6 Plus. But it does make a noticeable difference.

Who knows, maybe Apple will surprise everyone by introducing an iPhone 6c later this fall. The chances of that are pretty slim, but one can hope. If it does happen, I just hope Apple will accent the home button with a splash of color, as reflected in the concept images. That’s something the company should do more of in its current lineup.
