Galaxy S6 video teases Samsung’s metal flagship

There’s a ton of hype around the Samsung Galaxy S6, and the company added to it on Friday with a new teaser titled “I am the next Galaxy.”

The video suggests that the engineers and design team who built the phone were inspired by specific elements. In one part of the teaser, for example, the phone — speaking in the first person — says “I am crafted from the beautiful things I see around me.”

It’s at that point we see curved metal lines appear in the video. When the phone continues and says “they shape who I am,” we’re looking at water ripple imagery. The metal shots are almost certainly teasing the use of aluminum in the Galaxy S6, and the water ripples might represent the smooth lines around the edges of the phone.

The clip ends with a perfect side shot of the smartphone. It looks thinner than ever before, which is good news for fans hoping Samsung placed focus on design, but might ultimately mean there are going to be battery life obstacles. Not long until Samsun’s March 1 event at this point, but expect a few more teasers between now and then.
