Xbox One adds screenshots with next update

Word is out on the contents of the next Xbox One update thanks to Major Nelson. While some of the recent updates have been pretty light or cosmetic, this one has some real oomph to it.

Most importantly, Xbox One owners will get the ability to take screenshots when the update rolls out in March. To take a screenshot, you can either talk to your Kinect or just double-tap the Xbox guide button and then hit Y. As the video explains, when you double-tap, it takes the screenshot right then, before you even tap Y to actually save the screenshot. I’m looking forward to seeing if I can get the shots I want.

A new Suggested Friends screen has been added that will suggest recent players, friends of friends, and people following you that you aren’t following.

If you’re finding the new tile transparency introduced in the February update to be a bit much, those will also be adjustable after this update.

The update rolls out sometime in March.
