A number of Android Wear watches have begun receiving the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update. In addition to the latest Google Play Services release, the build also brings “a variety of system optimizations,” including performance improvements.
For now, the update appears to be arriving on the Moto 360, the Samsung Gear Live, and the LG G Watch — three of the first Android Wear watches to go on sale. But you can be sure it won’t be long before it’s also hitting the Asus ZenWatch, the G Watch R, and the Sony’s new SmartWatch 3.
According to Motorola’s change log, this update delivers the latest Google Play Services release, plus system optimizations and security updates that should improve performance. Some users are also reporting better battery life on some devices.
This update comes with build number LWX49L, and it’s rolling out over-the-air now. As always, it may take a few days for it to reach all devices, so don’t worry if you can’t download it just yet — it shouldn’t be too long before you can.
