WhatsApp, Hangouts, Facebook Messenger and more come to Pushbullet for desktop

Pushbullet, an all-around notification application that lets you see all of your phone notifications on your computer and send files between the two devices, now allows you to reply directly to several chat clients right from the notification alert. All you need to get started is a phone running Android 4.4 KitKat or newer and either a Mac or Windows computer.

Pushbullet provided the video above, which shows the new notification and reply system in action. It now supports WhatsApp, Google Hangouts, Facebook ┬áMessenger, Line and Telegram. “It’s much like the SMS reply feature that a lot of you have been using,” the company explained in its short video demonstration. “Essentially, you get your text notification on your computer, you get your reply button, you can type in your message and voila, the person will get the response.” Alerts pop up on your screen complete with a reply button and then, using a connection to your phone, it sends the message right out. The company says that you need Android Wear installed for Hangouts to work, even if you don’t have an Android Wear device.

While WhatsApp recently made its debut on the Web, you have to access a specific web portal to use the client. This is a much less convoluted way to use that client, and it syncs with everything else, too. Hit the source to give it a try now.
