Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. gets patriotic for President’s Day

This is the week we celebrate several birthdays of iconic United States presidents, including 16th President of the United States Abraham Lincoln’s, even though it was actually last week. However, the iconic leader of nations is a little too wrapped up in other affairs to give it much attention this year.

He’s too busy battling against aliens with British Royal Forces in his newest steampunk alternate Civil War era video game!

Nintendo’s and Intelligent System’s Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. is celebrating President’s Day by going all “John Phillip Sousa” in its latest gameplay trailer. A soldier chucks a golden eagle into the maw of a giant alien obstacle, and the Prez himself even joins in the fight by piloting a giant mecha robot of himself and pummeling a giant purple alien to death with his steam-powered fists.

Makes me want to eat raw turkey and drive a Chevy truck! Could this game possibly be more ‘Murikan than Metal Wolf Chaos? No, it doesn’t quite reach those levels, I think. That game is a whole new level of “special.”

Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. launches on the Nintendo 3DS on March 13. A free demo is already available for those who love American patriotism, or at least a hilarious Japanese interpretation of it.
