VLC for iOS makes its triumphant return

VLC is one of the better options out there for watching videos on your devices, largely because it supports a huge number of codecs and has a ton of control options. It has had a turbulent ride in the iOS app store to date, but it’s about to make its triumphant return.

VLC for iOS first launched a couple of years ago, but it was eventually pulled due to copyright concerns. It re-launched last summer and then it was pulled again in 2014 after the launch of iOS 8. Now it’s about to roll-out to users all over again, according to new reports.

Folks who already have the application installed are already noticing an update is available. Additionally, a Reddit user posted screenshots of the application and said that it should be available “very soon” to everyone. That fits nicely with the company’s promise for an early 2015 re-release.

If you’re looking for one of the best video playback apps out there, be sure to check out VLC for iOS when it hits shortly.
