Story of Seasons launching on March 31st for Nintendo 3DS

If you are as anxious to get back to the farm as I am, then mark March 31 on your calendars as the day to start your digital trip. XSEED has set the date for its “Harvest Moon spiritual successor” Story of Seasons to be released on the Nintendo 3DS.

In case you missed out on the situation, Harvest Moon producer¬†Yoshifumi Hashimoto left his longtime company of Natsume and joined forces with XSEED’s Japanese parent company, Marvelous AQL, bringing his knack for farming games with him. Marvelous and Natsume had worked together before in developing and publishing Harvest Moon games, but Story of Seasons has no connection to Natsume in its credits.

However, Natsume still holds ownership of the Harvest Moon trademark, and Hashimoto was forced to re-brand the franchise. Story of Seasons is often referred to as the next true entry in the Harvest Moon series because of him and other personnel involved.

Last year, Natsume released its own Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley as a spin-off without Hashimoto, but it was not well received by gamers or critics.

Story of Seasons will be released on March 31 for the Nintendo 3DS.
