Pokkén Tournament dated for summer in Japan, new screenshots

Play testing for Pokkén Tournament and its new controller must have proven successful, because Bandai Namco has a release window set for its Pokémon themed arcade fighting game. Expect to see machines scattered throughout Japanese arcades this coming summer.

Along with the announcement of a release window comes a batch of new screenshots staring several Pokémon from the game’s roster including Machamp, Lucario, Pikachu, Gardevoir, and Fennekin. Boy oh boy, do I want to see that adorable fox go head to head with a raging Machamp and get flattened like a bug.

As soon as the game launches in Japan, I’ll do my best to track down a machine and let you know what I think. I’m hoping that the Wii U version will follow shortly afterwards.
