New Ace Combat for 3DS gets launch trailer featuring amiibo support

by Joey Davidson | February 13, 2015

Now that the New Nintendo 3DS XL is out in North America, Nintendo can start advertising games that make use of the amiibo support on the system. The only game to do it now aside from Super Smash Bros.Ace Combat Assault Horizon Legacy+.

The amiibo support is shown off in the trailer above. Basically, tapping your amiibo on the system will unlock custom plane skins for the dogfighter.  Get your Mario, Luigi, Pac-Man, Bowser and Fox planes here. There are plenty to choose from, so that’s pretty cool.

Admittedly, I’m not really big on the Ace Combat series. I fell out of love with flight games a long time ago, aside from Pilotwings, I suppose. We’ll have to wait and see if our own Ron Duwell picks this one up. I know he digs these things.

Any takers of Ace Combat Assault Horizon Legacy+? Man, that name. Wow.
