We all know that Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli’s My Neighbor Totoro is the greatest children’s film ever made, yeah? Now that we have that fact out of the way, let’s look at how Japanese modders have found a way to channel their childhood nostalgia into “modder’s heaven,” The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
Unfortunately, it is not the lovable giant beast who has been given the modeling treatment but rather the famous bus stop sign from the film’s most iconic scene. Japanese Skyrim modding fan-website… ahem… Dragonporn has a gallery and the secrets behind modder Higeyoshi’s excellent creation. Don’t worry, the website is “safe for work.”
Yes, it is indeed a weapon, and when it is not being used to recreate magical cinema, the perfectly detailed bus stop sign can be used to bash enemies over the skull with.
Wonderful addition to the game, and I hope that Higeyoshi goes the whole ten yards and makes a Totoro monster to roam the wilderness in the Kingdom of Skyrim. Who would love to just randomly stumble across him and give him a big hug?
