Blizzard’s digital pet raised $1.9 million for Ebola relief

A space goat going by the name of Argi helped Blizzard to raise just a hair under $2 million in donations to help the Red Cross fight Ebola in Africa, the developer announced this week.

To get the pet (which is adorable, by the way), World of Warcraft players had to pay a $10 adoption fee. Throughout December, 100 percent of this went to the American Red Cross.

Argi is still available for purchase if you’re “looking for a companion to jump into your heart and nibble your socks,” though the proceeds are no longer heading toward charity. I kind of want to play World of Warcraft just to buy a space goat.

As noted by Polygon, Blizzard has previously used World of Warcraft to raise money for Japanese tsunami relief and for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
