Apple rolled out a new feature on Thursday for developers that should help app publishers receive direct feedback from specific groups of people and for specific builds. It’s called TestFlight Groups and, basically, it should allow developers to create a subset of folks to test specific apps.

So, maybe one developer wants to seed a beta version of its app to a group of students, and another beta version of its app to a group of teachers, in an effort to find out how both respond. Or maybe it might want to segment that into different age groups, or a bunch of press testers and another group internally. Previously, TestFlight would seed a specific build to specific individuals, instead of groups of people at once, so this should make testing much easier for developers.

The new TestFlight Group feature is now available, though TestFlight is still in beta, so there may be some kinks to iron out yet.
