We have some good news if you own an HTC One (M8) on T-Mobile. While the company originally planned to push out Android 5.0 Lollipop on Feb. 9, it’s now rolling out to owners of that smartphone, just one day later than anticipated. The update was first spotted by TmoNews and weighs in at about 630MB, so be sure you have some free space before you get started.
HTC tossed in a few enhancements and bug fixes, according to the changelog, but you’ll also notice all of the great things that Android 5.0 Lollipop introduces, including the Material Design user interface, new lock screen notifications, improved privacy functions, the ability to easily and more fluidly switch between open apps and Chrome tabs and more. There’s even a new search function inside settings so you can find what you’re looking for without digging too much.
We love Android 5.0 Lollipop, and it should improve the already amazing HTC One (M8) software experience. You can check for the update manually inside settings if you don’t see an over-the-air notification today. Hopefully this is a sign that the update is heading to the rest of the U.S. carriers shortly.
