Tropico 5 is Coming to the PS4, and this is the First Gameplay Trailer

The Tropico franchise has always been ridiculous. Players take over an island as a dictator and rule however they like in order to become a paradise, an evil regime or a tourist destination.

There are some critics out there who lambaste the affair for not being nice, but it’s all done in a very silly and ridiculous tone. It’s like a politically charged parody of SimCity, and that makes it fun.

It’s bound for the PlayStation 4 in 2015. We don’t have an exact release date just yet as that hasn’t been announced. We do have, though, this new features trailer that provides the first look at how the game looks on a new generation console.

After watching the trailer… yeah, the game looks good. The real question, though, will be how well Kalypso managed to get its UI working with a controller instead of the standard keyboard and mouse interface. That’s where this port will live and die.

Tropico 5 will launch this year on the PlayStation 4. Do we have any future console bound dictators in our midst?
