This Majora’s Mask 3D Commercial Screams 90s Advertising

With The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D nearing its release late next week, Nintendo’s really starting to pour on the commercials and marketing efforts. Good for them, as this remake is certainly worthy of all the extra attention.

Today we have a new 30 second spot that was clearly designed for TV. “You only have three days to save the world from the falling moon!,” the narrator warns as the clip gets started. We see the end of Termina, our hero Link dons the Deku mask and battles a few enemies before it ends.

That voice, though. That voice just screams late 90s and early 2000s advertising to me. The overly excited man voice that’s deep and enthusiastic. I feel like their should be wicked guitar licks and random lightning strikes over top of all the gameplay footage. It’s giving me flashbacks, folks. If only all commercials were as good as this one.

Same voice, right?

The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D will launch on the Nintendo 3DS on Feb. 13.
