Dying Light is a huge game. It’s a massive open world with a sprawling story and we’re still working on our review. What we do know, though, is that the game is filled with Easter eggs for committed fans to dig up.
One such fan, Steam user Garbett, made a list of the ones currently discovered. Some are hard to find but impossible to deny – Super Mario and Plants vs. Zombies get explicit areas. Others, like references to The Last of Us and Silence of the Lambs, might be more easily dismissed without these. As if Dying Light didn’t have enough to do, this gives players some incentive to keep exploring. Who knows what else might be hidden in the game.
Are Easter eggs fun, subtle ways for game creators – and players – to reference and remember other games and media, or do they distract and pull you out of the story?
