#IDARB Released on Games with Gold Early, Available on Xbox One Now

Revealed earlier this week as a Games with Gold title on the Xbox One, #IDARB was supposed to launch for free on the platform next month. Well, multiplayer title fans with an Xbox One and Xbox Live Gold, Christmas has come early.

In what might be either a slip-up or surprise release, #IDARB is now available on the Xbox One. Sign in with your Gold account and you’ll be able to snag it for free. It’s supposed to sell at $14.99 on the regular, so this is a pretty good deal.

Now, truth time? I’ve read about #IDARB in passing a few times, and I watched the launch trailer… I have no idea what this game is. It’s a multiplayer game, I know that much. Really, though, the game’s insane description has me scratching my head.

Prepare to battle everything from Moustache Cops to Breakfast, in this game inspired by fast action, 8-bit sports and arcade classics! Built with the input of thousands of crazed internet gamers, #IDARB is a chaotic 8-player eSport jumping future arena ball game. Create characters, teams, team logos, tournaments, even your theme music, in this highly customizable experience complete with disruptive “hashbombs” which dynamically change the game itself via Twitch and Twitter! IDARB supports up to a whopping 8 simultaneous local players, and up to 4 vs. 4, head-to-head online matches. Additional features include a mind-blowing single-player story mode, wild half time competitions, and unlockable recipes.

Which, perhaps, explains why Xbox and the Other Ocean team wanted to launch this as a free Games with Gold title. They knew it was nuts, and maybe the best way to sell the appeal was by getting out to a large community immediately.

Whatever the case may be, I’ve already picked this up and have it downloading now. Anyone else checking it out?
