Today, Outlook for iOS got an official launch, while the Android equivalent is still in preview. Either way, Microsoft’s new app promises to offer one of the best mobile email experiences around. The entire thing is extremely customizable, and includes tight integration with your calendar, contacts and files. It even works with other email clients, so you can access your Gmail account from the Outlook app.
Microsoft also took the opportunity to officially release versions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint designed specifically for Android tablets. All three apps are available for free on Google Play, though you’ll need to subscribe to Office 365 to take advantage of some features.
There are also some hardware and software requirements. Your device needs to measure at least 7-inch across, and anything bigger than 10.1-inches will require Office 365 to create or edit documents. You’ll also need an ARM-based processor (sorry Intel), at least 1GB of RAM and at least Android 4.4 KitKat. If you’re tablet makes the cut you can head to Google Play now to check out the new apps.
