Games With Gold Dialing Back its Options in February

After an enormous month in January, Microsoft’s Games with Gold is taking a break from free big releases and focusing on two indie games and a mid-tier budgeted title.

First, the Xbox One game is one I’ve never even heard of. If #IDARB proves to be half as amazing as its trailer, seen at the top, then we are in for a real treat. Xbox Wire describes it as “part platformer, part hockey, part fighting game, and part party game,” and the first two gaming comparisons that came to my mind was a cross between Super Smash Bros. and Blitzball.

In other words, it sounds like the greatest thing of all time, and it is free this coming month on your Xbox One.

The first Xbox 360 game of the month goes to Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons. We’ve written so much about this game over the years that we all know what it is by now. Two Nordic brothers set off on an adventure, and each of them are required to use skills to get through the map. Both are controlled with separate analog sticks at the same time.

Seriously, who doesn’t own this game by this point? Show of hands? If you like it, be sure to check out Nintendo’s Marvelous: Another Treasure Island as well. Similar concept with a dose of The Legend of Zelda Producer Eiji Aonuma’s sense of humor.

The second Xbox 360 game goes by the name of Sniper Elite V2I can only imagine what this game is about.

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons was recently sold to 505 Games, meaning the company makes up 2/3rds of the offerings this month. However, it is the indie oddball #IDARB which has me the most interested. Be sure to check them out this month on Games with Gold.
