Bandai Namco has released a brand new Japanese gameplay clip for the upcoming Dragon Ball Xenoverse. Speaking as someone who watched the series only once through thanks to Toonami (how’s that for a flashback!?), it actually looks pretty darn cool.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse is a 3D fighter featuring the heroes and villains we all know and love, a custom character made by the player and the scenarios we remember from the long-running series.
The trailer spoorts a few quick glimpses of my favorite character, Trunks. I can’t remember exactly when or how it happens in the show’s narrative, but I remember seeing Trunks for the first time in that now-classic high vest design, and I instantly loved the dude. Trunks is awesome.
His fusion? I don’t know, I liked the Super Saiyan version of Gotenks, but his base form? Sort of annoying. Maybe I’m crazy, I don’t know. Gotenks was powerul, so, there’s that.
Our own Ron Duwell normally covers Dragon Ball Xenoverse as the stories pop up while he’s at his desk writing. As such, I don’t follow the game as closely as he does. I know he’s excited for it. Now, having watched a trailer and really looked over some screenshots, I’m sort of looking forward to it myself.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse will launch for the PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360 on Feb. 24, 2015. Are you snagging this one?
