Gear VR has been available to purchase directly from Samsung and AT&T for a little over a month, and now there’s one more place you can pickup the virtual reality headset. Best Buy started offering the wearable device this week for $199 with free shipping.
Samsung’s take on virtual reality uses Oculus technology, but isn’t quite as immersive as the real thing. One big advantage of Gear VR is that it’s wireless, so you can rotate a full 360 degrees without getting tied up in wires. It also requires a Galaxy Note 4 to work, and that’s definitely something else to keep in mind before you make a final purchase.
There’s a lot to love about Gear VR, but to be honest it’s probably not worth buying one for yourself just yet. Samsung has done an admirable job racking up videos and games for the futuristic headset, but there’s still no one killer app that makes it all worthwhile.
If you’re dying to try Gear VR you can always head to your local Best Buy and see if they have a demo unit available, but if you absolutely need to own this device hit the source link below to order one for yourself.
