Apple Watch Release Set for March, Analyst Says

Apple still hasn’t said when its new smartwatch will actually hit the market, but a new analyst report (via MacRumors) claims to reveal plans to launch the device in March. According to KGI Securities’ Ming-Chi Kuo, the Apple Watch will ship sometime that month, offering a potential release window for the highly-anticipated wearable device.

Kuo also claims the rumored 12-inch MacBook Air will launch around the same time, arriving sometime this quarter. Based on recent leaks, we’re expecting Apple’s latest laptop to offer a super-thin design, a high-resolution display and a new Core M processor from Intel. It may also swap all the old MacBook ports for a single Type-C USB.

The Apple Watch is officially set to launch in “early 2015,” so a release anytime beyond March could mean unplanned delays for the wearable device. However, Apple still hasn’t confirmed plans to offer a 12-inch MacBook, so there’s no guarantee that rumored device will arrive anytime soon.

It seems likely Apple will hold another press event in the near future to reveal the details of its wearable device, including battery life, pricing and an official release date. It’s possible the 12-inch MacBook Air could make a surprise appearance at the same event, and we’ll be keeping an eye out for any more clues as March closes in.
