Get Acquainted With Final Fantasy Type-0 HD’s Combat System

We all know that Final Fantasy Type-0 HD and Final Fantasy XV are taking the series further from its line-fighting roots than ever before. You know what? That’s okay.  A good many other elements of the series lie within both of these packages, you’ll just be going about killing monsters in an entirely new fashion.

Square Enix has released another “Orience News” trailer designed to show off how each character approaches a battle in Final Fantasy Type-0 HD. With 14 characters, this is one of of the largest Final Fantasy games to date. Players will find at their disposal an exponential number of combinations they can bring into battle and find their own preference and balance with.

Defeated enemies can be harvested for their souls to power up your characters, and magic elements come in a simple fire, ice, and thunder set of flavors. You won’t be balancing out “types” like in Pokemon when taking on your enemies, allowing for more streamlined action. Positioning and dodging also come into play when getting three characters to combine their efforts into a single massive attack.

Final Fantasy Type-0 HD will be released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Mar. 24th. It will come packed with a Final Fantasy XV demo that will show off a few hours of the game. And I know many of you want to play this game on a Vita, myself included, but we’ll all just have to wait and see if that comes into being. Square Enix is making a lot of moves to re-position itself this year, so it might have its hands full at the moment with other decisions its making.
